Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of transport planning and transport systems

The position is initially available until 31.05.2023 as part of the project "Unbeschwert urban unterwegs - U-hoch-3 -; Subproject: Urban mobility with user-centered human-technology interaction and effects of transport services on customer acceptance and transport demand taking into account ELSI aspects" (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given. An extension will be sought.

Tasks:

• Development of a prediction model for the occupancy status in public transportation
• Development of a rule-based decision model for dynamic connection protection
• Conception, implementation and evaluation of an evaluation of transport services
• Publication of the research results in scientific journals
• Presentation and discussion of the research results at conferences

Requirements:

• A university degree (Master's or Diplom II) in the field of transportation, preferably in the fields of transportation engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, computer science, transportation economics and mathematics, completed with at least good grades
• Good written and spoken German and English language skills

An advantage:

• Good specialist knowledge in the fields of "local public transport", "transport telematics" and "integrated transport planning"
• Good knowledge of empirical research methods
• Thorough and independent way of working
• A high degree of organizational and teamwork skills
• Very good presentation and documentation skills
• Experience in dealing with large amounts of data
• Experience with program languages such as R or Python
