Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of agricultural engineering

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is for collaboration in the "EcoStack" project, initially limited until 31.01.2023 (§ 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

For the EU project EcoStack we are looking for reinforcement for the investigation of the influence of organic mulch materials on functional biodiversity in potato cultivation. The focus is on aphid infestation, virus transmission (especially PVY) and the abundance of aphid antagonists. The focus is on working with aphids. An understanding of their way of life and the mechanism of virus transmission in aphids is a prerequisite. Ideally you will have practical research experience in these areas.

Requirements:

• Very successfully completed scientific university degree in the field of biology and specialization in agriculture. A scientific university degree in the field of ecological agricultural sciences is preferred
• Sound knowledge of the statistical software R
• Very good knowledge of data processing (Word, Excel)
• Theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of aphids and virus transmission
• Very good written and spoken German and English, ideally at C1 level
• Practical experience in carrying out agricultural activities
• Experience abroad, preferably in the field of research
• Project-related and independent work, teamwork and a high degree of networking skills and interdisciplinarity, ideally supported by letters of recommendation from university lecturers
