Teacher for special tasks for Mathematics-Propädeutik im Ingenieurwesen (FB Maschinenbau) (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H

Tasks:

• Independent teaching in the area of Mathematics-Propedeutics (Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics) and Applied Mathematics (Engineering Mathematics); the conception and coordination is to be carried out in close coordination with the person responsible for Engineering Mathematics (Prof. Dr. Andreas Meister, FB 10).
• Participation in the general teaching activities of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (excursions, mentoring, etc.) and the functional area of Engineering Mathematics (FB 10) is desired; contributions and concrete links in the area of specialization are also desirable
• Conception, planning and independent execution of courses in the form of lectures, exercises, tutorials, revision courses
• Training and guidance of student tutors
• Conception, preparation and implementation of placement tests and performance assessments during the course of study.
• The teaching load is 18 semester hours per week.

Prerequisites:

• Academic university degree in mathematics completed with very good results and doctorate in mathematics
• very good didactic skills
• extensive university teaching experience of several years in the field of applied mathematics with a focus on engineering/mechanical engineering and special experience in the field of propaedeutics

Advantageous are:

• concrete previous experience in mathematics applications on topics of mechanical engineering (e.g. mechanics, thermodynamics, etc.).
