Digital Italy Day

Everything is different this year, including the Italy Day on the topic of "Pandemic crisis discourses in Italy: Boccaccio, Manzoni, Agamben". Due to the pandemic, it will take place in a shortened and digital form. Everyone is cordially invited to join via zoom using the link.

Hardly any contemporary cultural and media debate can avoid the global Covid-19 crisis. This year's Italy Day is therefore also doubly marked by the pandemic, on the one hand by the mode of its realization and on the other hand by its content.

Two lectures will show to what extent epidemics are part of the historical experience not only of Italy, but also of Europe, in what form they are processed in literature, but also in what way they determine discourses and debates of the present and provide further impulses for critical theory formation.
