StadtLabor at Free Radio Kassel: Women Architects in Socialism

Monotonous buildings made of gray concrete as a backdrop to a dreary everyday life - a stereotypical image of architecture under socialism. Only a few people know that great buildings were also created here. Even fewer know that women were involved in many of the buildings. The research project "Second World, Second Sex: Women and Architecture in Socialism" at the University of Kassel aims to change this.
