FoSS: Multiperspectivity as an opportunity to penetrate (not only) social law

with Prof. Dr. Daniela Schweigler (University of Duisburg-Essen)
Moderation: Prof. Dr. Felix Welti (University of Kassel)

Social law is not exactly considered the navel of the German legal science world. Its marginal position contrasts with the regulatory density, complexity and political as well as practical importance of social law. One can rightly lament this state of affairs. However, it also offers opportunities, because the social law community is comparatively open, both internally and externally: The boundaries between academia and practice, between lawyers and representatives of other disciplines, are more permeable than in other fields. This enables a multi-perspectivity that is essential to be able to penetrate this highly complex field of law at all. This can provide impulses for a stronger integration of teaching, research and application far beyond social law.
