Advanced training for teachers: Study orientation - from graduation to follow-up orientation

The sometimes lengthy process of orienting young adults to their studies takes place under the difficult conditions of adolescence. Orientation is made more difficult by the fact that in the previous educational biography the decision-making options were relatively limited and could in principle be reduced to the question of which school-leaving qualification is possible and to be pursued. After school, the far more complex question arises as to which of the numerous training programs or courses of study might follow. This is where good orientation skills are required.
In the course of the event, the predominant orientation of young people towards degrees with the associated opportunities and risks will be explained and a "connection orientation" will be presented as an alternative. Together we will discover the secrets of the academic job market and work out which competencies are necessary for a good study and career orientation as well as a successful career entry. Finally, we will look at how schools can help to promote these competencies and make them visible.
