Right-Wing Terrorism in Germany: Counter Strategies in (Civil) Society and State

The Kassel lecture series against right-wing extremism will take place for the eleventh time in the winter semester 2022/23. In commemoration of the racist murder of Halit Yozgat, which the right-wing extremist NSU committed in 2006 not far from the Holländischer Platz campus, lectures with changing topics have been held annually since 2012, aimed equally at students and urban society. An interdisciplinary team from the departments of Humanities, Humanities and Cultural Studies, and Social Sciences organizes the lecture series with scholars and practitioners. After the lecture in the last winter semester was dedicated to right-wing extremist parties and social movements (e.g. in Germany, France, Italy, Ukraine and Hungary), the 2022/23 semester will focus on right-wing terrorism in Germany and its reappraisal by the state and (civil) society.

Further information and all dates

The lectures will take place on Mondays from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. in Lecture Hall 5 at the University of Kassel as well as via live broadcast at the Weserberglandforum of the HAWK in Holzminden. Depending on the pandemic development, a continuation in hybrid or digital form is possible. Guest students can register via ringvorlesung[at]uni-kassel[dot]de.
