University closes between the years

Library

All University Library locations will be closed over the Christmas holidays and the turn of the year. The last day of opening this year is Sunday, December 22 at the Holländischer Platz location, Saturday, December 21 at Brüder-Grimm-Platz, all other locations are open until Friday, December 20. The regular opening hours apply to all locations.

The first opening day in the new year is Thursday, January 2, 2025. The libraries at the Kunsthochschule and Oberzwehren locations will have shortened opening hours from January 2-10: 10 am - 4 pm. The library at the Wilhelmshöher Allee site is closed at weekends, open on Tuesdays from 10 am to 4 pm and on the remaining days from 10 am to 1 pm (9 am to 8 pm: Open Library). The library at the Witzenhausen location will be open on January 2 and 3 and from January 6 to 10 from 10 am to 4 pm. On the weekend, January 4 and 5, the location will be closed; on January 11 and 12, the Open Library will be open from 9 am to 2 pm.

Kassel Student Union

Dining halls and cafeterias are still open up to and including Thursday, December 19. From Monday, January 6, 2025, they will reopen at all locations with the usual opening hours.

Other contact and advice centers of the Studierendenwerk will be closed from 23 December and will also reopen on 6 January.

UNI:Lokal

UNI:Lokal will be closed from December 22, 2024 up to and including January 6, 2025. From Tuesday, January 7, the regular opening hours will apply again for the event venue and exhibition space.
