Prof. Dr. Hannes W. Lampe

Dr. Hannes W. Lampe took over the professorship for Public Management on April 1, 2025. Previously, he worked as a consultant in the public sector at Capgemini Invent from 2022 to 2025, where he initiated, managed and successfully implemented numerous projects to drive the digitalization of the public sector. Dr. Lampe studied economics and business administration at the European Business School, Nelson Mandela University and the University of Osnabrück. In 2015, he completed his doctorate at the University of Hamburg and the Johannes Kepler University Linz with his dissertation on "Efficiency Analysis in the Public Sector". He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher and habilitation candidate at the Technical University of Hamburg until 2022.
His research focuses on administrative transformation, reform and the digitalization of the public sector. Methodologically, Mr. Lampe relies on innovative approaches from data science, in particular natural language processing, big data, machine learning and advanced economic models.
