University chancellors call for an offensive to simplify administration

In it, the university administrators note an "excessive degree" of regulation and call for more trust and personal responsibility within state institutions. The chancellors announced that they would approach the legislature and ministries with concrete proposals. These would include the standardization of processes and the reduction of reporting obligations.

"Reducing bureaucracy must be tackled concretely by all those who bear responsibility for our academic system and must have tangible effects and quickly - so that more science can be done at universities again," the paper states, among other things.
