Research Assistant (m/f/d) (EG 13 TV-H) - in the Department of Computational Mechanics

The position is limited for 24 months as part of the third-party funded project "Method development for failure analysis due to the curing of pre-damaged adhesive joints in steel-intensive mixed construction structures" (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

• Coordination and independent work on the research project
• FEM modeling of technological samples and components and calculation of vibration behavior
• Programming of an extended material model in an FEM program
• Publication of the research results in scientific journals
• Presentation and discussion of research results at specialist committees and conferences
• Participation in conferences

Prerequisites:

• University degree with at least good grades in mechanical engineering,
  mechatronics, civil engineering, physics or technomathematics

Advantageous are:

• Previous knowledge of the finite element method (FEM) and material theory
• Thorough and independent way of working
• High level of organizational skills
• Very good presentation and written reporting skills
• Experience in using an FEM program
