Research Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the Department of Experimental and Digital Design and Construction

Part-time with half of the regular working time of a full-time employee.

The position is initially limited to 21 months within the framework of the research project "Industrially usable, sustainable and reusable formwork for the realization of double-sided curved precast concrete elements for energy-efficient, resource-saving and climate-friendly construction" funded by the "Forschungsinitiative Zukunft Bau" (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

The department "Experimental and Digital Design and Construction" is dedicated to the research and teaching of computer-based design and fabrication processes in architecture, which are developed in the field of tension between the adjacent disciplines of construction, statics and design. Material properties, structural calculations, and fabrication technology are directly incorporated into the design process via digital design logic and are closely linked. The effects of the changing production conditions due to digitalization on architecture are investigated by means of empirical research and study projects. In this context, robotics represents a central design tool with which novel digital building processes are developed.

Tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in the above-mentioned research project
• Independent processing of a research subarea
• Practice-oriented, material-specific research
• Visualization and analysis of test specimens
• Planning and production of prototypes using digital manufacturing methods
• Documentation of the research work
• Processing of research proposals

Requirements:

• Academic university degree in the field of architecture, design or engineering completed with very good to good results
• Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English
