Scientific or Artistic Assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - Department of New Media

Part-time with half of the regular working time of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in connection with § 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of doctoral studies or further artistic qualification is given.

Tasks:

• Artistic, theory-based and/or creative collaboration on teaching projects in the area of New Media.
• Preparation and support of teaching in the area of new media, e.g. basics of using common software programs, basics of programming, advanced coding, physical computing, critical computing, design by code, generative design, parametrical design
• Collaboration in the external presentation of the major field of study
• Organization of excursions, workshops and exhibitions
• Maintenance and organization of the technical equipment in the main focus of studies

Requirements:

• Completed artistic/design or scientific university studies or studies at an art academy.
• Proven experience in programming as an artistic and/or design practice
• Artistic, design or theoretical/scientific publications on new media and/or digitality
• Networking in the field of new media
• Good knowledge of theoretical/critical discourses on digital strategies, new media, digitality and critical coding
• Clear classification of own work in the context of the course of studies Visual Communication
• Qualified programming experience in common programming languages
• Clear interest in mediation and teaching

Advantageous is:

• Teaching experience
