New drinking water dispenser in the Campus Center

With the current high temperatures, it's important to drink plenty of fluids. To make this even easier, a drinking water dispenser has now been installed in front of Lecture Hall 1 in the Campus Center.

Water that comes directly from the tap consumes little energy and saves waste. Water dispensers are also planned for other university locations.

In the future, thirsty people will be able to tap chilled and unchilled tap water into the water bottle they bring with them.

The idea of installing drinking water dispensers at the University of Kassel has been around for some time. In February, the Green Office's Ideas Challenge brought together interested staff and students to push the issue further.
The tap water in Kassel is of very good quality and is checked regularly. It also saves waste and CO2 if water comes directly from the tap and does not have to be transported far.
Suitable locations for additional water dispensers are also currently being sought for the other university sites. Six more devices are planned.

The new drinking water dispenser is listed as an official refill station. The Green Office has also been recognized by a tip:tap e.V. as a " Tap Water Friendly Office." Tap water is also served in meetings and at Green Office events.
