34 new Germany scholarships

In total, well over one million euros in scholarship money has been paid out to almost 200 students at the university since the Deutschlandstipendium was established. The students supported by the Deutschlandstipendium receive 300 euros per month, of which 150 euros come from private donors, which are matched by the federal government.

These private sponsors, i.e. companies, foundations, associations or private individuals, are recruited by the individual universities. At the University of Kassel, for example, these are regional companies such as Bickhardt Bau EG, OctaVIA AG or Yatta Solutions GmbH. However, foundations and associations such as the Rudolf and Ursula Lieberum Foundation, the Dr. Lisa Oehler Foundation, the Pfeiffer Foundation for Architecture, the Volksbank Kassel Göttingen Foundation and the Sigi and Hans Meder Foundation have also supported the Deutschlandstipendium at the University of Kassel for many years.

With Indimaj. Gesellschaft für Bildung und Soziales e.V. is the first sponsor to explicitly endow Germany Scholarships for students of social work. This year, Yatta Solutions GmbH and OctavIA AG have dedicated Germany Scholarships to the recently deceased university lecturer Prof. Dr. Albert Zündorf, who was a mentor, companion and academic teacher to both companies.

Principles of awarding the Deutschlandstipendium

The Deutschlandstipendium is not linked to political, social or religious organizations, but is awarded directly by the universities. In addition to very good to good performance and aptitude, important selection criteria include Social and community involvement, willingness to take on responsibility - in university politics or the (church or political) community, own children, (chronic) illness or disability, working in the parental business, educationally disadvantaged parents, flight and migration background.
