Exhibition: The Herkules Racing Team presents racing cars and driving simulator

An exhibition at UNI:Lokal (January 29 - March 29, 2025, UNI:Lokal, Wilhelmsstraße 21) presents the project, shows several racing cars and invites you to get into a driving simulator.

The Formula Student events are the highlights of the season that the Herkules Racing Team works towards for a whole year. In this international design competition, students from Kassel compete against teams from other universities and colleges. The exhibition presents the various competitions, as it is not just speed that counts, but the best overall package of design, performance, financial and sales planning.

As a special highlight, UNI:Lokal is presenting three racing cars from previous seasons with which the Herkules Racing Team was able to celebrate success. Both car connoisseurs and non-experts will find lots of interesting information. One focus is on the switch from a combustion engine to an electric drive, which the Herkules Racing Team made a few years ago in order to make the racing car fit for the future and promote sustainable technologies.

The exhibition also provides a photographic insight into the workshop and introduces the team of students who contribute their interdisciplinary expertise from various degree courses to the development process of the car.

Visitors can test their own driving skills and achieve fast lap times in a vehicle simulator built from a former HRT racing car. A Carrera track also invites visitors to join in and experience speed.

The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive program of events. In afternoon coffee talks (short 15-minute presentations) and evening lectures, topics from the exhibition and research topics from the participating Faculties will be presented in greater depth. Regular guided tours give individual visitors and interested groups an insight into the exhibition. Individual appointments can also be arranged. Prospective students, school pupils and school classes with their teachers are also invited to actively experience the exhibition in workshops and hands-on activities and to find out more about the courses on offer at the University of Kassel at information and advice events.

The exhibition was curated and organized by Kathrin Meckbach (Communications and Marketing Office) and Ruben Woyke (Herkules Racing e.V.) with the support of the Faculties of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Kassel. It was designed by Ilka Jacobus and Steffen Härtel-Klopprogge (Studio m2m3).
