I Go: Green - having project ideas for sustainability promoted

The special feature of the project seminars is that the Sustain Groups (topic-related working groups) offered by the Green Office are part of every project seminar. These allow students to actively participate in the sustainable development of university operations. The Green Office and/or the University of Kassel can be used as a real laboratory within the project offerings, and if additional speakers are needed for certain topics, the Green Office can be the contact point and arrange them.

As part of the project seminar I Go: Green, interdisciplinary courses are promoted at the University of Kassel, which on the one hand create an awareness of sustainability and sensitize students to the topic and on the other hand contribute to a more sustainable development of the University of Kassel and a more sustainable use of resources. We hope that students will be able to engage with the sustainable development of the campus and gain a holistic view of the various dimensions of sustainability. At best, the project seminars will deal with the question of how sustainability can be permanently implemented and realized at the university. For example, the areas of energy, open spaces, mobility, nutrition and waste can play a role here, but other areas are also conceivable. In addition, the learning process should be given room for participatory design and students should be given the opportunity to try out new ideas.

What is the aim?

The aim of the project seminars I Go:Green is to improve the operational sustainability development of the University of Kassel. Through the active participation and involvement of students in the development of the university's internal environmental protection. Students gain environmental awareness and are sensitized to sustainable action. Through the combination of theory and practice and the participatory approach, students are also optimally prepared for the challenges of professional life. The results of the project seminars form the basis for consistently implementing the topic of sustainability at the University of Kassel. Support in the Green Office's topic-related Sustain Groups (working groups) enables students to be optimally involved in corporate sustainability development.

How do I get funding? What do I have to do?

An initial idea for a project seminar can be described in an application outline. Please apply in good time at greenoffice[at]uni-kassel[dot]de by September 15 for the respective winter semester.
