SMA Technologie AG was founded in 1981 as an independent company out of Kassel University with the idea of developing and producing intelligent computer-based control systems for decentralized energy supply.

With over 40 years of expertise in the development and production of system technology for photovoltaic, wind energy and combined energy generation systems, continuous product improvements and the use of completely new technologies, SMA is regarded as a trendsetter in the solar industry.

SMA Technologie AG, headquartered in Niestetal, Germany, with subsidiaries in 20 countries worldwide, currently employs more than 4,300 people and generated sales of over €1,904 million in the 2023 financial year.

A general presentation will be followed by a factory tour of production in Building 70.
