Application and admission requirements

Please take notice of the information regarding the application process for international applicants!

Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent degree with at least 180 credits in a technical or scientific course in the subject area

• Civil and Environmental Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Physics
• or equivalent

in another course, at least 60 credits in mathematics, natural sciences and engineering, of which at least 18 credits are in the field of mathematics (analysis, algebra).

Further admission criteria:

• 'good' mathematical knowledge,
• 'good' knowledge of technical sciences,
• 'good' basic knowledge of natural science.
• Letter of motivation (maximum two pages) in which your personal motivation and suitability for the master's program is provided convincingly, including a record of previous academic performance, field training and scientific work. 
• Proof of at least one year of professional work experience after finishing your first degree of higher education.
  • In special cases, the examination board can decide that work experience (in any field of activity) before you have finished your first degree of higher education is also acceptable.
• Proof of English language knowledge equivalent to level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (examples see here).

We need two versions of the certificates mentioned below: one copy of the original and one of the translation into German or English.

• Curriculum Vitae
• School leaving certificate with which you fulfill the entrance requirement for higher education.
• Bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent degree with at least 180 credits in a technical or scientific course in the subject area
  • Civil and Environmental Engineering or
  • Mechanical Engineering or
  • Electrical Engineering or
  • Physics or
  • or equivalent in another course, at least 60 credits in mathematics, natural sciences and engineering, of which at least 18 credits are in the field of mathematics (analysis, algebra). 
• Transcripts of records of the previous higher education: Bachelor degree, diploma or equivalent degree with at least 180 credits

Application deadline for winter semester:^1st October

Bachelor's degree, diploma or comparable degree with at least 180 ECTS credits in a technical or scientific subject with a specialization in one of the following areas:

• Civil and environmental engineering
• Mechanical engineering
• Electrical engineering
• Physics
• or comparable

In another subject at least 60 ECTS credits in mathematics, natural sciences or engineering with at least 18 ECTS credits in mathematics (analysis, algebra).

Other admission criteria:

• 'good' mathematical knowledge,
• 'good' technical knowledge,
• good' basic knowledge in natural sciences
• Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages) outlining your personal motivation and suitability for the master's program, including previous academic achievements, practical work and scientific work
• Proof of at least 1 year of professional experience after the first degree
  • In special cases, the examination board may decide to recognize professional experience prior to the first degree.
• Proof of English language skills corresponding to level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages<media 15341 - - "TEXT, Proof English Level B2 new, Proof_English_Level_B2_new.pdf, 189 KB">(examples</media>).

• Transcripts of records of previous studies: Bachelor's degree, diploma or comparable degree with at least 180 ECTS credits.

We need two versions of the above documents: one copy of the original document and one copy in English or German (if original document is in another language).
