Business Law with integrated sustainability studies (Bachelor)

Become an expert in the interface between law, business and sustainability: you will learn to master complex legal and business issues - from civil law, commercial law, employment law and European law to economics and legal tech.

At the same time, you will deal intensively with sustainability issues, including environmental law, climate policy, sustainable corporate governance and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Diversity aspects are not neglected either.

Seminars and a five-month mandatory internship complement your studies and prepare you optimally for your career entry or a further Master's degree.

The degree programme provides a unique combination of business and legal expertise with a clear focus on sustainability. More than 20 elective modules allow you to pursue your interests in a targeted manner and specialize in areas such as environmental law, climate policy or transformation processes. The interdisciplinary approach optimally prepares you for the challenges of the future.

After graduating, a variety of career paths will open up to you: you can work in areas such as sustainability management, sustainability reporting or sustainability consulting and find a future-oriented career in companies, auditing firms, management consultancies or public administration, among others.

Associations, international organizations, NGOs and research institutions also offer exciting activities. Typical tasks include developing strategies to promote ecological and social sustainability, reviewing sustainable corporate practices or shaping transformation processes in politics and business.

If you wish, you can combine practical learning and international experience: a five-month compulsory internship allows you to apply your skills in a company, organization or public authority, reflect on your own goals, get to know suitable fields of work and make valuable contacts.

You also have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad after your undergraduate studies, particularly in the fields of economics and sustainability studies.

In the first semesters, you will lay the foundations in areas such as civil law, employment and social law, commercial and corporate law, credit law, electronic commerce law and economics. As you progress, you will have the opportunity to set individual focus areas, for example in environmental law, sustainable business or digitalization law.

In addition to lectures and seminars, the internship is an important part of the course, as it allows you to apply the skills you have acquired in practice. At the end of your studies, you will write a Bachelor's thesis in which you investigate a current issue. This combination of fundamentals, in-depth study and practical experience will prepare you optimally for entering the professional world or continuing on to a Master's degree course.
