Research projects in the MINT area

With its interdisciplinary competencies in the fields of industrial and organizational psychology, ergonomics, human-machine interaction, project management and quality management, the IfA forms an interdisciplinary center of the University of Kassel.

In research, all classical areas of applied mechanics are covered. The approaches are of theoretical, analytical/numerical as well as experimental nature. The focus is on the analysis of physical processes in solids and fluids as well as the further development of suitable methods of modeling and numerical investigation.

The institute covers manufacturing processes, machines and machine systems, the organization, logistics and the factory as a whole in research and teaching and as a service to industry.

The focus of the Institute of Thermal Energy Technology's fields of expertise is chosen to cover a chain from the provision of solar energy, through transfer during heat and mass transfer, to conversion into mechanical as well as thermal energy.
