Prof. Dr. Jiaxin Pan
Dr. Jiaxin Pan has been head of the Department of Information Security since this winter semester. The research focus of the department is on the cryptographic foundations of information security. The long-term goal is to transform modern theoretical approaches into next-generation applied cryptography with reliable security guarantees. A current research question is how to construct efficient cryptographic algorithms with provable post-quantum security for large-scale applications (e.g. in the context of "big data"). Pan was previously an Associate Professor at NTNU, Norway, where he was awarded a Young Research Talent project from the Norwegian Research Council. He has built an international Research Group working closely with groups at UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, and NTT Tokyo. Pan studied computer science at SCNU, China. He received his PhD from Ruhr University Bochum in 2016.
