Our cities are particularly affected by advancing climate change. The high building density and the sealing of surfaces hit cities particularly hard during heatwaves and heavy rainfall. Added to this are exhaust fumes from cars and fossil-fuel building heating systems.
Under the heading "How can our city better protect itself from the threat of climate change and what can Kassel do to make its contribution to climate protection", the following questions, among others, will be answered:
"How can we make the city of Kassel resilient to drought, flooding and heavy rainfall?"
How can a forest garden contribute to climate protection and climate adaptation in the city?
What significance do green spaces have for the urban climate?
How can climate maps support land use planning?
On February 5, 2025 at 6 p.m., the lecture series on the topics of low-car cities and bicycle zones will continue.
