Car industry in crisis - new drives for northern Hesse?

Under the title "The automotive industry in crisis - new drives for North Hesse?", the event will address the far-reaching consequences that drastic job cuts in the automotive industry or even the closure of entire companies would have - for employees, the supplier industry and the Kassel region.

It will be less about analyzing or criticizing the strategies of individual companies or politicians. Instead, the aim is to make a constructive contribution to an in-depth social dialog and, in particular, to discuss the question of structural policy solutions and perspectives.

The following have been invited to take part in the discussion
- Dr. Ursula Weidenfeld, freelance business journalist, columnist for Der Spiegel and Merkel biographer, among others
- Michael Rudolph, District Chairman of the German Trade Union Confederation DGB Hesse Thuringia
- Silke Engler, Deputy District Administrator in the district of Kassel,
Former Mayor of Baunatal Mayor of Baunatal
- Prof. Dr. Guido Bünstorf, University of Kassel, Head of the Department of Economic Policy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The event is part of the Kassel Region Transformation Network (tregks). The aim of this network is to transform the region into a sustainable and innovative technology and production location for the mobility industry.

The TRegKS sub-project "Future Dialogues" - as part of which the panel discussion is taking place - is aimed at civil society with various event formats.
