The administrative board of the Studierendenwerk, chaired by University Chancellor Dr. Oliver Fromm, sees Christa Ambrosius as the ideal successor to the previous managing director. Ambrosius holds a degree in economics and has extensive management experience in the public sector. "She is the right person to further develop the Studierendenwerk as a service provider on campus and to meet the challenges of the future," says Fromm.

Ambrosius takes the helm of Studierendenwerk in a time marked by the aftermath of the pandemic and increasing digitization. "Together with our employees, I will do everything in my power to sustainably develop our offerings in the area of tension between economic action and social mission," affirms the new managing director. According to Ambrosius, all decisions will be based on the needs and expectations of the students.

Christa Ambrosius takes over a well-staffed house: The Studierendenwerk is represented at the university locations in Kassel and Witzenhausen with dormitories, dining halls and cafeterias, daycare centers, legal, social and student finance counseling, psychological counseling and the implementation of BAföG and AFBG for the approximately 25,000 students at the University of Kassel. Its work is generally financed to the tune of around 75 percent by revenue and semester fees and around 25 percent by grants, in particular from the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts (HMWK).

The administrative board of the Studierendenwerk, in which both the students and the employees of the university and the Studierendenwerk are represented, would like to thank the outgoing managing director Christina Walz for her dedicated and extremely successful work. According to Dr. Fromm, they wish her successor Christa Ambrosius "inspiration, foresight and an all-time happy hand for her new tasks."
