"Future Reasons Me - A strong start in agriculture": 30th Witzenhausen Conference

The importance of agriculture for society is undeniable. It not only has the task of securing livelihoods, but also of protecting the environment, nature and animals. However, structural change, the climate crisis and geopolitical events regularly pose challenges for agriculture. With innovative ideas, founders are trying to solve the problems in the agricultural sector and drive positive change. With this conference, we would like to call for active participation in this change. However, this requires ideas, courage, knowledge and capital. That is why this year's anniversary conference will focus on start-ups. We want to learn directly from interesting personalities how they managed to turn their idea into reality and what problems they encountered in the process.

The conference will take place over four days with different thematic focuses. The lectures on Wednesday (22.11.) will deal with the motivation to act and the variety of options for action. The afternoon workshops will focus on mushroom cultivation, hemp and Zapatista coffee cultivation. On Thursday (23.11.), the focus will be on the social aspects of founding a company. Mental health and conflict management strategies, for example, will be discussed in this context. The last day of the conference (24.11.) will shed light on economic and legal aspects of agriculture, supplemented by practical workshops and company presentations. The program will be rounded off with cultural events in the evening and a closing concert.
