More than 25,000 students at the University of Kassel for the first time

According to these so-called cut-off date data, the number of first semester enrollees is 5,941, and the number of newly admitted students is 5,211 (3,599 initial enrollments, 1,612 new enrollments). 48.4 percent of enrollees are women. The number of international students is also higher than ever, at 3,040 (or 12.1 percent).

This means that slightly more people are enrolled than had emerged from the preliminary data at the beginning of the semester. Overall, however, a trend that can be observed in many places is confirmed: On the one hand, the total number of enrollees has once again increased slightly compared to the previous year (24,385). On the other hand, there are signs that this growth is coming to an end, as the number of first-year students is declining slightly (in the 2015/16 winter semester, there were 6,250).
