Research assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the field of cutting and joining manufacturing processes

The position is initially limited to 20 months and is subject to notification by the funding body (§ 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

The Department of Cutting and Joining Manufacturing Processes at the University of Kassel deals with both cutting and joining manufacturing processes. The department focuses on bonding and welding joining processes and their non-destructive testing. In the field of welding technology, the department deals with magnetic pulse welding, among other things. Within the framework of publicly funded and industrial projects, the research focus is on process understanding and process development of the innovative joining process.

Your tasks:

• Carrying out, evaluating and interpreting experimental investigations in the research project
• Supervision of the system technology in the field of magnetic pulse welding
• Setting up test benches
• Applying for research projects
• Publication of research results in (inter)national media (conferences, journals, etc.)
• Preparation of feasibility studies
• Working on public and industrial research projects
• Collaboration in research and teaching in the Welding Technology specialist group

Your requirements

• Above-average academic degree (diploma or master's degree) in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, materials science or electrical engineering
• Interest in innovative production technology issues and their investigation
• Careful, independent and team-oriented way of working
• Very good verbal and written communication skills (German)

Advantageous are:

• Experience in the fields of materials technology, production technology, measurement technology
• initial experience in the field of welding and control technology
