We are looking for a person whose artistic work is centrally located in the field of photography. This person should be able to demonstrate an internationally recognized outstanding practice as an artist. Their artistic and design-based teaching should ensure a forward-looking education for students within the Visual Communication degree program.
A conceptually oriented approach to photography and the ability to teach photography in its entire spectrum, i.e. in its technical, media, political, social and theoretically discussed dimensions, is expected. The teaching of creative and artistic image skills should take into account contemporary and historical developments and be based on currently changing visual worlds and their use.
We expect an approach to the challenges of teaching and research at an art academy today that is interested in internationality and research-based intellectuality - an approach that moves critically between the parameters of art, design and the market.
Cooperation with the other areas of work in Visual Communication and the other courses of study at the art academy and participation in their artistic and creative development projects is expected. Applicants must demonstrate their aptitude for qualified teaching and provide evidence of relevant teaching experience. Participation in academic self-administration is part of the duties.
The recruitment requirements and performance requirements according to §§ 61, 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act apply.
