The employment is within the DFG Research Training Group 2050 "Privacy and Trust for Mobile Users" and is limited for 18 months (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). An extension for another 18 months is sought (subject to project extension by the DFG).

 

Task Profile:

The task is the independent scientific collaboration in subproject B1 "Trust and Trust Evaluation in Social Networks", combined with a project-related PhD. This should deal with the dynamic relationship between mobility and social networking in the digital age and resulting requirements for a socio-technical trust infrastructure.

 

Requirements profile:

Very good university degree in social sciences, preferably in sociology, in particular very good knowledge of sociological theory; furthermore, previous knowledge in the subject areas of trust/privacy as well as mobility and socio-technical dynamics in the digital age. Interest in issues in the field of online social networks, the willingness to work in an interdisciplinary manner as well as communication and teamwork skills are also required.

 

In addition to the involvement  in an interdisciplinary research training group, the position holder will have the opportunity to pursue a doctorate in the dynamic environment of the Department of Sociological Theory and the Scientific Center for Information Technology Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel.
