Research Associate (EG 13 TV-H) - in the field of Engineering Mechanics/Continuum Mechanics

The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for another 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

The research activities of the professorship are in the fields of micromechanical and phenomenological material modeling, coupled field problems, fracture and damage mechanics and numerical simulation of material and component behavior. In this context, classical metallic and ceramic structural materials are as much the subject of research as modern composites and intelligent, multifunctional material systems of adaptronics and microsystems technology.

Tasks:

The scope of duties includes both the autonomous and independent processing of a research project in the field of solid mechanics and the support of teaching in the department.

Requirements:

Completed scientific university studies in the field of mechanical engineering. Very good knowledge of engineering mechanics, especially continuum mechanics and coupled thermoelectromechanical multi-field problems. Experience in modeling of ferroelectrics is expected.
