Workshop: "Intercultural competence for career entry"

Dates: 14.12. 12-19 h and 15.12. 9-18 h

In our internationalized working world, intercultural competence is one of the key skills for young career starters. For many employers, efficient cooperation with people from other cultures is now a matter of course. As exciting and instructive as working in multicultural teams may be, it is undoubtedly associated with a number of challenges. Linguistic communication is a challenge, because central values or the understanding of team roles can be completely different.

Are you about to finish your studies and want to start your career with an international company? Or do you want to start working abroad straight away? Are you planning to complete an internship abroad or a semester abroad? Or do you want to gain further qualifications for your career entry? If so, then this workshop is for you. Here you will learn about the challenges you face in a global business culture and which strategies are relevant for successful communication and interaction.

Combined with creative, playful exercises and simulations, various topics such as working in multicultural teams, communication and teamwork, critical incidents in multicultural teams and culture-dependent expectations of a leadership role are covered.

The workshop will be conducted by Rucha Ambekar M.A., intercultural trainer and consultant.

Upon submission of an academic achievement (to be determined by the event management), 1 credit for additive key competencies can be certified (only for Bachelor students) and all participants will receive a certificate of participation afterwards.

The workshop will take place on December 14 (12:00-19:00) and December 15 (09:00-18:00). You will receive further information after binding registration at: www.uni-kassel.de/go/praxiskoordinationfb02

The workshop is organized by the Practice Coordination in the Department of Humanities and Cultural Studies and is open to interested parties from all departments.
