Artistic staff member (m/f/d) EG 13 TV-H - in the department "Fine Arts

With half of the regular working time of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in connection with § 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG; artistic further qualification).

A dedicated individual is sought for the Visual Arts/Painting department of the Visual Arts program at the Kassel School of Art to oversee the department in collaboration with the department chair.

Your responsibilities:

• Services in the field of Visual Arts, with a focus on painting, especially against the background of the media and political image.
• The services include at the same time the possibility of further artistic qualification
• Co-organization of teaching activities and supervision of students in the realization of artistic works
• Support of the professor in administrative tasks and committee work
• Development of your own qualification project

Your requirements:

Expected:

• Completed artistic or accredited university studies
• An own artistic and/or art theoretical practice
• A fundamental interest in jointly accompanying a class structure as a whole in terms of content, discourse and, not least, organization. This includes the co-organization of guest invitations, excursions, joint planning of research projects as well as the organization of equipment and materials
• knowledge of craftsmanship and painting techniques
• Knowledge of common office and image processing software
• A broad interest in current art events, painting, and issues related to image theory

Advantageous are:

• A theoretical interest, as a discursive thread of art and image theoretical issues should accompany the daily class routine
• Good knowledge of English
