A focus on the effect of high field strengths in materials and structures is desired for research and incorporation into the research profile of the department. Experience and future activities in research and development in one or more of the following areas is expected:
- Shaping in insulating and functional systems and use of smart materials in specialized functions (e.g., mechanical and electronic switches or nanotechnology).
