Workshop: Creating scientific papers with Microsoft Word

This workshop provides you with the tools for writing complex scientific papers. At the end of the course, each participant will have created a personal Word template that can be used for their own term paper or thesis.

You should have a basic knowledge of Word. The exercises will be held in Word 2016 (or Word Mac). Explanations and assistance for Word 2013 and older may be provided on a case-by-case basis. Open Office, light or online variants of the software cannot be used in this course. In case you use "Word" with a different language setting, we recommend to install the German language package beforehand.

Please bring your own computer with Word 2016 installed to this course.

• Tables of contents, figures and tables
• Headers and footers, individual page numbering for individual sections
• Footnotes
• Embedding graphics
• Automatic figure and table labeling and cross-references
• Use autocorrect for common terms
• Track changes
