Research Associate (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of femtosecond spectroscopy and ultrafast laser control

Part-time with half of the regular working time of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited until the end of the project (31.12.2022) within the framework of the Excellence Initiative of the State of Hesse "SMolBits ("Scalable Molecular Quantum Bits") (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility to do a PhD is given.

Tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in the above mentioned project, in particular performing experiments with shaped femtosecond laser pulses for coherent electronic excitation of lanthanoid molecules in solution and analysis of the obtained data.

Prerequisites:

• Completed high school science course in physics or physical chemistry with excellent grades.
• Experience in setting up and performing physical experiments with lasers
• Experience with interfaces of measurement instruments with computer programs
• Fluency in written and spoken English communication

Advantageous are:

• Experience with femtosecond lasers, pulse shaping techniques, optical spectroscopy, and coherent control
• Previous experience in scientific publishing and presenting at international conferences
• Thorough and independent work habits
• A high degree of organizational and teamwork skills
• Experience with programming languages such as LabView, Python, MatLab, and C++.
