Research Associate (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the Department of Cutting and Joining Manufacturing Processes

The position is initially limited to 24 months (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG), the employment is subject to the allocation of funds by the funding agencies. The possibility of doctoral studies is given.

The Department of Separating and Joining Manufacturing Processes at the University of Kassel is concerned with both cutting and joining manufacturing processes, with the area of adhesive bonding technology being a key topic. Here, numerous issues related to adhesive bonding are investigated both in publicly funded projects and in industrial projects. 

Tasks:

Within the framework of publicly funded projects, the innovative joining process adhesive bonding is to be researched together with industrial and research partners.

The scope of duties mainly comprises the scientific processing and cooperative management of these research topics, whereby the synthesis and modification of adhesives as well as the performance, evaluation and interpretation of experimental investigations are the focus of the planned work. In addition, the supervision of student assistants and participation in the implementation of courses are part of the range of tasks.

Requirements:

• Above average university or college degree (diploma or master) in (organic) chemistry.
• Careful, independent and team-oriented working style
• Very good verbal and written expression skills (German and English).

Advantageous are:

• Experience in the fields of polymer chemistry, plastics technology or analysis and/or adhesive bonding technology.
