Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of foundry technology GTK

The employment takes place within the framework of third-party funded projects and is initially limited until 31.08.2020 (§2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given).

Your tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of foundry technology GTK as part of the "Mg-Bond and Honeycomb" projects
• Independent work on the research areas "Mg-Bond - bonding of structural components made of Mg die casting", salt core technology in die casting, processing of magnesium materials
• Representation and documentation of research results: Conferences, industrial partners, scientific publications Publications
• Acquisition of third-party research funding

Your requirements:

• Successfully completed scientific university degree in mechanical engineering, foundry technology, lightweight construction/design, materials engineering, or similar.
• Experience in dealing with liquid metal melts/pressure die casting processes, Al/Mg lightweight construction, joining
• Knowledge of CAD/design and the simulation programs MAGMAsoft, Catia V5, Solid Works
• Good knowledge of Mg hot chamber die casting, salt core technology

Advantageous:

• Previous knowledge of theoretical test planning and practical test execution and evaluation
• Experience in dealing with industrial partners and working on industrial projects
• A high degree of teamwork, organizational skills and the ability to work independently
