Artistic assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of theory & Practice of Visual Communication

Part-time with 22.00 percent of the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is limited until 28.02.2021 within the project "Re:Coding Algorithmic Culture" (§ 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG).

Tasks:

• conceptual and organizational collaboration in the interdisciplinary research project
• Preparation, development and implementation of experiments with code at the interface between sociology, art, design, computer science
• preparation and instruction of coding jams and game jams
• conceptual and practical collaboration in the development of an own aesthetic for the research project
• Collaboration on the project publication, including copywriting.

Requirements:

• Artistic degree with honors from an art college/university.

• Documented own artistic practice in the field of digital realities and aesthetics
• Documented own artistic practice in the field of queer-feminist, anti-racist aesthetics
• In-depth programming knowledge (e.g. Unity/C#, Python), as well as experience in web development (HTML, CSS, Javascript) and with DIY electronics (Arduino, RaspberryPi)
• Documented own practice as a text author
