Architect (m/f/d), up to EG 13 TV-H - in the department of construction, technology and real estate

The University of Kassel is a young university in the center of Germany. The university currently has 110 buildings with a total area of approximately 350,000 square meters distributed over eight university locations. The following position is available in the Central University Administration, Department of Construction, Technology and Real Estate as soon as possible for the upcoming challenging construction projects, especially the new building for the natural sciences.

Tasks:

• Independent representation of the University's interests vis-à-vis the parties involved in the planning process and approval procedures.
• Independent performance of the construction representative function for the "New Natural Sciences Building" project as well as other projects
• Conducting planning negotiations on qualitative user requirements of the university. Coordination, review, management and control of user interests and independent approval of planning and execution details from an economic, planning, architectural, functional and constructional point of view.
• Independent development of strategies and planning concepts for further university expansion as well as coordination with the involved parties
• Design and implementation of space programs and utilization plans on the basis of guideline space values. Identification of synergies between faculties, departments, scientific and other facilities and design of space optimization concepts
• Preparation of construction requirements for new buildings and renovations on the basis of space requirements measurements.

Requirements:

• Completed academic university studies in the field of architecture or equivalent skills and experience
• Several years of professional experience in the performance of the construction representative function and related project management of university construction measures
• Several years of experience in conducting planning negotiations of demanding construction measures, preferably in university construction

• In-depth knowledge of the requirements profile of natural science departments/subjects (laboratories, etc.)
• Relevant experience in quality, schedule and cost control of extensive construction projects, preferably in higher education
