Research assistant (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the field of animal husbandry in the tropics and subtropics

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee.

The position is limited for 5 months according to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG.

Tasks:

• Independent teaching in English in the module M.SIA.I02 "Management of sub-tropical land use systems" with a focus on animal husbandry systems and supervision of student exercises on this topic (scope: 2 SWS)
• Independent evaluation, statistical analysis and interpretation of bio-economic data on the situation of the dairy market in West Africa and preparation of a scientific manuscript in English

Prerequisites:

• University degree (MSc) in general agricultural sciences with a focus on livestock sciences or development economics, completed with very good results
• Experience in practical field research on sub/tropical livestock systems
• At least 1.5 years of research experience in countries of the global South
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Very good knowledge of spreadsheets and statistical programs, ability to work independently and in a team

Advantageous are:

• Experience in supervising BSc and MSc students.
• Letter of application in English.
