Registrar (m/f/d) - Grade W L2

The Chancellor is a member of the Presidential Board, manages the university administration in accordance with the guidelines of the Presidential Board, is responsible for the budget and is responsible for budgetary, personnel and legal matters in accordance with the resolutions of the Presidential Board.

We are looking for a person with several years of professional experience in a responsible position who can be expected to meet the requirements of the position. In this respect, we are particularly looking for applicants with management experience in larger organizational units related to science or higher education.

The Chancellor should be very familiar with university administrative processes and be able to actively shape the profile and development of the University of Kassel. This requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work in a team and a high level of responsibility.

In addition to a university degree, preferably in economics or law, differentiated knowledge of resource management and personnel and organizational development is expected. A high degree of service orientation with a willingness to communicate in cooperation with committees and institutions within and outside the university is essential. Good communication skills are required, as is a cooperative management style.

In accordance with Section 41 (2) HHG, the Chancellor is appointed in consultation with the Senate on the recommendation of the President for a period of six years, usually as a temporary civil servant. Further details are regulated by § 41 in conjunction with § 39 para. § Section 39 (3) to (5) HHG. Salaries are paid in accordance with salary group WL 2 of salary group W of the Hessian Salaries Act; performance-related pay may also be granted.
