In accordance with Section 64 (3) of the Hessian Higher Education Act (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz) for a fixed term of six years. After a positive tenure evaluation, a permanent W 2 professorship will be awarded.
This tenure-track professorship is funded by the federal-state program for the promotion of young academics.
The professorship represents German linguistics with a research focus on the semantics and lexicology of Modern High German. In teaching, German linguistics is to be represented in a broad range of content for all degree courses (teaching and BA/MA). The professorship is related to a planned cooperation between the University of Kassel and the Göttingen Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The planned tasks therefore also include academic involvement in lexicographical research projects of the Academy, in particular in the project "Wortgeschichte digital" (ZDL). Experience in the field of lexicography and/or digital humanities is therefore desirable. A documented further qualification in the areas mentioned in the denomination, among others, is a prerequisite for the W 2 professorship to be made permanent. The tenure review is based on an evaluation procedure.
In addition to teaching and research, the duties also include the promotion of young academics, e.g. as part of the "GeKKo" doctoral program, participation in the university's committees and in academic self-administration.
In addition to a doctorate and university teaching experience, further academic achievements are required, in particular relevant publications in the fields of semantics and lexicology of Modern High German. Experience in acquiring third-party funding is also desirable.
The recruitment requirements and performance requirements of §§ 61 and 64 (3) of the Hessian Higher Education Act apply.
Please enclose the following documents with your application: Curriculum vitae, references, certificates, teaching and research concept, list of academic papers, qualification thesis (dissertation), three selected publications, at least two of which must be solely authored, as well as a list of courses and, if applicable, results of course evaluations.
