More than half of the energy demand in Germany is used for heat. The heat demand for industrial processes alone is as high as the total electrical energy demand. Unlike electricity, however, the share of renewable energies in the heating sector has so far been less than 15 percent of final energy consumption.
The speaker, apl. Prof. Dr. Ulrike Jordan, Head of the Department of Solar and Plant Technology at the University of Kassel, will highlight current challenges and innovative approaches to the integration of renewable energies in heat supply systems, using the example of industrial processes, heat networks and air conditioning applications.
The business side of North Hesse will be represented by Prof. Dr. Markus Pfuhl (Chief Digital Officer at the Viessmann Group), who will also moderate the innovation breakfast.
