German-language feminist theology was significantly shaped at the two Kassel Institutes of Theology. For this reason, the Institute of Catholic Theology is taking the 50th anniversary of the university as an opportunity to offer historical and current insights into the innovative achievements of feminist theologies. In her guest lecture, Dr. Aurica Jax, Head of the Office for the Pastoral Care of Women of the German Bishops' Conference, will give a historical review of the beginnings and protagonists of feminist theology at the University of Kassel and define current positions.
Afterwards, the professors of the Institute of Catholic Theology(Prof. Dr. Ilse Müllner, Prof. Dr. Mirja Kutzer, Prof. Dr. Annegret Reese-Schnitker) will each shed light on current research projects and debates from their theological disciplines - biblical theology, systematic theology and religious education.
In a discussion with all participants, the current situation of feminist theologies and theological gender research will then be discussed in light of current church-political and social conditions.
