FUSION Artist Talk // Bea Schlingelhoff

Bea Schlingelhoff's work has been shown at Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem; Bergen Kunsthall; Kunstverein Köln, Cologne; Galerie Max Mayer, Düsseldorf; Arcadia Missa, London; Instituto Svizzero Milano, Milan; Schloss, Oslo; Manifesta 9, Genk; Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, Madrid; Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA); Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; and Museum Villa Stuck, Munich, among others. Recent solo exhibitions include No River to Cross, Kunstverein München, Munich (2021) and Künstlerhaus Stuttgart. Schlingelhoff received an MFA from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) in Los Angeles in 2000 and participated in the Whitney Independent Study Program in New York in 2001-2002. She currently teaches at Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, and lives and works in Switzerland.

Parallel to documenta fifteen, the fusion in SoSe 2022 addresses questions of exhibition and exhibiting. These range from the exhibition value of architecture itself to architecture museums; from architectural models as exhibition objects to questions of urban development through ""signature buildings"" that often take the form of museums; from exhibition architectures and spatial-curatorial settings to artistic appropriations of architectural processes.

Scientists, planners and designers invite to the public lecture series Fusion in a weekly rythm to report about their work with special regard to their position on architecture, city and landscape and to discuss with the guests. During Fusion, newly appointed professors and guest lecturers give their inaugural lectures.
