Future Dialogues: Green Utopias or Armageddon - What is the Impact of Climate Future Images in Art and Science?

Our economy and society must be fundamentally transformed if we are not to run into catastrophic global warming. But how do we succeed in a social
rethinking? Do catastrophic scenarios generate motivation or powerlessness? Do utopias point the way or lull us into a false sense of security? Art and theater create new realities and reflect social debates:

What ideas do we have when we talk about the future? How do these images of the future affect our willingness to change our actions? And what role can - or should - art and theater play in the social negotiation process on the climate crisis? In the fishbowl discussion at the Staatstheater Kassel, artistic and scientific perspectives will meet and find space for voices from the audience, impressions from the Kassel documenta summer as well as insights from current interdisciplinary projects between science, culture and society.
