Right-wing terrorism in Germany: Counter-strategies in (civil) society and the state

In the winter semester 2022/23, the Kassel Lecture Series against Right-Wing Extremism will take place for the eleventh time. In memory of the racist murder of Halit Yozgat, which was committed by the right-wing extremist NSU not far from the Holländischer Platz campus in 2006, lectures with changing topics have been held annually since 2012 and are aimed at students and urban society alike. An interdisciplinary team from the Humanities, Humanities and Cultural Studies and Social Sciences departments organizes the lecture series with academics and practitioners. After the lecture was dedicated to right-wing extremist parties and social movements (including in Germany, France, Italy, Ukraine and Hungary) last winter semester, the 2022/23 semester will focus on right-wing terrorism in Germany and how the state and (civil) society deal with it.

Further information and all dates

The lectures will take place on Mondays from 18:15 to 19:45 in lecture hall 5 at the University of Kassel and via live broadcast at the Weserberglandforum of the HAWK in Holzminden. Depending on pandemic developments, continuation in hybrid or digital form is possible. Guest students can register via ringvorlesung[at]uni-kassel[dot]de.
