QuiS - Quality in Studies and Teaching Hesse-wide

QuiS stands for "High quality in teaching and learning, good framework conditions for studying". With QuiS, the Hessian state government launched a program in 2021 to promote quality in teaching and studies and for targeted teaching development. Teaching at universities is currently influenced by various factors: the diversity of students, changes as a result of the Corona pandemic, the interaction of analog and digital teaching offerings, the integration of AI or the flexibilization of studies.

QuiS supports Hessian universities in working conceptually on these and other current topics; it promotes pilot models and their implementation. The main goals of the program are to increase permeability in the education system, to enable students to study with equal opportunities and to improve student success. The range of QuiS projects at the universities is correspondingly wide: they focus on entry to university, increasing the proportion of women in STEM subjects, flexible and dual study models. The QuiS program will receive more than 130 million euros in funding over five years from the "Zukunftsvertrag Studium und Lehre stärken" (Strengthening Studies and Teaching Contract for the Future).

The aim is to present the various QuiS projects and innovative developments for better study and teaching quality to the public and the various target groups in a bundled form. Teaching and committed work on new forms of teaching should become visible. The networking of the participating scientists and staff is strengthened by access to the internal "QuiS Network Universities". It offers all Hessian universities, as well as the experts in teaching who accompany the program beyond the state borders, a platform for exchange and knowledge transfer and for the long-term safeguarding of the QuiS project results.

The QuiS service point at the Technical University of Central Hesse coordinates the joint Internet presence of the Hessian universities within the framework of the program.
